Grant Williams and Orangey in The Incredible Shrinking Man (1957)

One of the classic shrinking movies that I finally got a chance to see and to this day it still holds up very well in terms of visual effects! When Scott Carey begins to shrink because of exposure to a combination of radiation and insecticide, medical science is powerless to help him. The movie features plenty of pulse-pounding moments whether its Scott running away from the Cat or Scott battling a Tarantula for food. The sets that they created are also incredible. Even during the time that the movie was made the illusion of miniature was very convincing. It is upsetting that he was never reunited with his love interest, but at least he was at peace in the end when he just kept on shrinking until he was the size of an atom. If you ever wanted to check out a shrinking movie for the first time, I would recommend this one!
