I literary don’t know much about the DC Comics property, nor did I even made the habit of reading their comics; all I knew was that they were associated with the Teen Titans and Beast Boy used to be a member. Along with the fact that the team are similar to the X-Men, because they are also outcasts and have a wheel-chair leader! It is a spin-off of Titans, with Rita Farr/Elasti-Woman (April Bowlby), Clifford “Cliff” Steele/Robotman (Brendan Fraser), and Larry Trainor/Negative Man (Matt Bomer) reprising their roles, as well as Kay Challis/Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero), Eric Morden/Mr. Nobody (Alan Tudyk), Victor “Vic” Stone/Cyborg (Joivan Wade) and Dr. Niles Caulder/Chief (Timothy Dalton) joining the cast. Doom Patrol is a team of traumatized and downtrodden superheroes, each of whom has suffered a horrible accident that gave them superhuman abilities but also left them scarred and disfigured. The members of the team have found their purpose through The Chief and have come together to investigate some of the world’s weirdest phenomena. After The Chief mysteriously disappears, though, the reluctant heroes find themselves called to action by Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission that they cannot refuse. Doom Patrol — part support group, part superhero team — is a band of superpowered freaks fighting for a world that wants nothing to do with them. Like “Titans”, the show has excessive violence, F-Bombs and sex scenes; but its not as extreme. I would say that the show is more focused and has a much bigger budget then “Titans”. But the shows biggest strength is the dysfunctional family dynamic and its weirdness. Every episode the characters are put in strange situations and the villain breaks the fourth wall at lot. Which makes it more surreal then most superhero shows. Also the show is more character driven, then action heavy, which I find a little problematic at times. Also expect LGBT Themes in some episodes of the show. However its clear to see we have a winner on our hands!
