Making a prequel to the previous movie with a new cast of characters was odd enough; but at least we get a chance to see other characters! In this live-action prequel to the 1994 comedy hit, the Flintstones and the Rubbles go on a trip to Rock Vegas, where Wilma is pursued by playboy Chip Rockefeller. Mark Addy (he’s good) and Stephen Baldwin (too tall and overacted) replace John Goodman and Rick Moranis as Fred Flintstone and Barney Rubble, while Elizabeth Perkins and Rosie O’Donnell are replaced by Kristen Johnston (I don’t get it!) and Jane Krakowski (she’s hot) as Wilma Slaghoople and Betty O’Shale. supporting cast features Joan Collins, Thomas Gibson, Harvey Korman, and Alan Cumming in a dual role as The Great Gazoo and Mick Jagged, a parody of Mick Jagger (they are all nuts!). Well I’ll give the movie; at least its more child friendly then the previous movie, but that ain’t saying much. A bland recommendation for fans of the classic animated series!
