We now get a Dark Knight adaptation that is worthy to the works of Frank Miller! The Dark Knight of Gotham City begins his war on crime with his first major enemy being the clownishly homicidal Joker. The film stars Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Jack Nicholson as the Joker, alongside Kim Basinger, Robert Wuhl, Pat Hingle, Billy Dee Williams, Michael Gough and Jack Palance. Thanks to its more gothic direction; we get to see the first more serious depiction of Batman filled with plenty of great set pieces and action scenes to boot. Plus its theme is so popular its later remixed into “Batman: The Animated Series”. And of course at times Jack Nicholson’s Joker can overshadow the caped crusader himself. But still I give props to Micheal Keaton. A high recommendation for DC Fans!
